James T. Gendreau
Jim brings with him more than 24 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, having worked with tenants such as Publix, Walgreen Company, CVS, Target, Lowe's, Home Depot, Sprouts Farmer's Market, Lucky's, AT&T, Starbucks and others.
Shortly after his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force, Jim began his real estate career as a leasing agent and company pilot. Jim also found time to continue flight instructing at Nunn’s Aviation in Plattsburgh as the love for aviation would not stop and still continues being part of the Tailwinds business today. Starting as both leasing agent and company pilot for the Arvay Group. In 1995, Jim was hired by The Sofran Group where he was primarily responsible for strip center leasing and outparcel sales. He later acted as a partner and site acquisitions director. In 2005 Jim joined a Winter Park, Florida retail developer MCP as a partner primarily responsible for site acquisitions and new development.
In 2009, Jim started his own company, Tailwinds Development, with a keen focus on retail shopping center development. Tailwinds was started because of a love and a passion for doing a job right the first time and bringing each community it serves something different. Tailwinds Development in its 10 years of operation has built a reputation in the industry as being honorable, disciplined and focused on quality sites and quality developments, giving back to each and every community they build in.
A Florida licensed RE Broker, Jim is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and still flys and maintains all his flying certifications. Jim is married 23 years and has two wonderful daughters. Jim and his family live in Oviedo, FL, where he is an active member of his church, Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
